JOHN JOURNEY

SHARING JESUS

The Sharing Jesus course challenges all believers to present the Gospel in a practical, innovative and achievable manner. It does not expect that all believers should become preachers or pastors, but witnesses rather. Judea believes that the Great Commandment is for all believers, and that everyone can and should play a role in reaching the lost with the Gospel. However, what we experience though is, that the mission of the church became an outreach program instead. Sharing Jesus will motivate believers to connect with family members, colleagues and next-door neighbours on common ground, and to become true friends before sharing the Gospel. Sharing the Gospel is a lifestyle and not a program and is based on Christ’s teachings in the New Testament (Luke 10).

FOLLOWING JESUS

Following Jesus is a guideline for making disciples in the African context. Believers are motivated to connect with friends and strangers and to establish a true relationship. At the right time, believers will then share the Gospel and lead the new followers to become disciples. This is an ordinary invitation and takes place in a house church.

THE NINE VALUES OF THE CHURCH

The traditional distinctive part of the broader Church of Jesus Christ had been putting structures in place or following the particular model. These two had been used as the basis of doing Church, training leaders, liturgy and in guiding how various ministries are run. However, the most important component of the Church life is values. Values serves as the DNA, which serve as the foundation, guide and basis of growing the Godly Church. Such values must not just be professed by the members of the body of Jesus Christ but also must be applied. One can indeed refer to Church as the guard that keeps the Church on its mission.

In addition, the church values also serve as the tool that provided direction and helps the Church to fulfil what the Lord had called them to do.
